Matt Hunter Esq. is an experienced attorney engaged in the private practice of law for more than 30 years. He is a life-long resident of New York and currently resides in Queens County. Mr. Hunter obtained his B.A. degrees in Political Science and Economics from the City University of New York and is listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1976

He graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, California in 1979 and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1980 and the New York State Bar in 1983. Matt is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of New York and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America in 1996. Mr. Hunter has been active in local politics as a candidate for the New York State Assembly in 1998 and in other community organizations including the West Side Tennis Club, Men's Club of Forest Hills, Friends of Station Square, Queens County Bar Association, and Queens County Women's Bar Association. Matt is an avid tennis player and a coach for High School girls and boys tennis in the CHSAA. He is currently in private practice in Forest Hills, concentrating in Real Estate and Estate Law.

Matt Hunter is a Trusts and Estates attorney with more than 30 years of experience. His clients receive personalized service in all estate matters, including small estates.  Mr. Hunter is also an attorney qualified by the New York State Office of Court Administration for Surrogate's Court appointments as a Guardian ad Litem. His practice includes all kinship matters, will contests, probate, administration, wills, trusts, accountings and complex estate litigation matters in all Surrogate's Courts in the greater New York metropolitan area. Of particular interest is representing cousins or cousins-once-removed of decedents in cases where next-of-kin are unknown or their whereabouts are unknown and the Court requires a kinship hearing in order to prove the claimant's degree of relationship to the decedent and entitlement to claim a share of the estate. He is accepting new clients in 2022.

Matt Hunter is an experienced Real Estate Attorney for more than 30 years. His practice specializes in personalized service to sellers and purchasers of real estate, co-operative apartments and condominiums.  Mr. Hunter is particularly well-versed in the restrictive covenants peculiar to Forest Hills Gardens real estate. Matt also represents cooperative corporations as general counsel and as transfer agent in sales of residential apartments. He is also well-versed in representing institutional as well as private lenders. Matt is experienced in handling complex real-estate title issues including those involving estates and wills.
